New Farm Park is an easy 15 minute ferry ride downstream from the Brisbane CBD. It is popular amongst locals for its beautiful gardens, expansive lawns and trendy establishments. Orienteering Queensland's permanent course is the ideal way to explore this historic area, with the hunt for checkpoints taking you around the stunning gardens, riverfront walkways and narrow streets that New Farm is known for.

Map Notes

From start (the triangle), visit as many of the numbered features as you can within the time limit, and return to the finish (double circle) to complete.

Photo Opportunity: The old Teneriffe Woolstores on the Brisbane River contrast with modern architecture to give a beautiful photo opportunity.

Getting There

  • Follow the ring road until you see the Rotunda.
  • Look for the lamppost above a set of stairs, which overlooks the Brisbane river.
